I am nearing the 70 year old mark and gardens have been a huge part of my life.
I started as a youngster influenced by both my mother and grandmother. Both were active gardeners and of course, it rubbed off on me. Now my granddaughter is dabbling with growing plants and vegetables, and I am happy to advise her when she asks.
Some of my happiest times were spent planting flowers, tilling space for a garden, tending to the garden, and watching Nature intervene. I have a passion for the outdoors and helping things grow.
My gardening life is in Florida (born and raised). I have recently moved into a new home and I have plenty of space to garden. Small, but just enough for me to handle. The reason I call this blog Small Patch Gardening.
No matter, it still works and there is so much more to gardening than just planting. Gardening has helped so many people through the stress of the pandemic and the stress of everyday life. It has provided many people with a healthier lifestyle and provided clean food for their families. Gardening is hard work but can also be just plain fun and rewarding.
So here are the four things I have to make good use of for my small area.
- My area: is about 150×50 maybe a little more. I have plenty of room for container gardening too.
- Sun: It’s Florida. No issues there.
- Water: I have an in ground well.
- Soil: I buy it in bags from garden centers. Organic as possible.
Time for planning now. I will write soon.
Thanks for stopping by.
